Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Sinus infection or allergies can cause dizziness because of its effect on the ear. The inner ear plays a major role in balance. Blocked sinuses can affect a tube in the ear called the eustachian tube. This tube has different functions including equalizing the pressure in the ear.
Labyrinthitis can occur due to a viral infection, though there are other causes. If there is a sinus infection present, it can lead, in some persons to a viral infection of the inner ear.
You can use over the counter meds such as meclizine (antivert) or dramamine (not just useful for nausea/vomiting, used for dizziness as well) or benadryl.
These are all old antihistamines, old antihistamines have been found to be useful for dizziness but will make you drowsy.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
