Question : My wife bumped her head against the edge of a door, and the lower part of the right eye is swollen. What can she do to eliminate the swollennes? Her eye was not affected. The cheekbone under her eye is what is swollen. Please help...
Brief Answer:
Continue cold compresses, Ibuprofen if it suits her.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I would advise her the following:
Continue cold compresses.
Give her Ibuprofen if it suit her. This is better anti-inflammatory.
The photos shows a hematoma.
This usually settles on its own, the absorption of such a hematoma is a natural phenomenon. Hence will resolve completely.
Since there is no breach of skin there is no need of an antibiotic at the moment.
Not to rub over this area, no massage.
This would heal nicely.
I hope this answers your query.
Please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
Do not worry at the moment.
Take care.
