How Soon One Can Encounter HIV Symptoms Post Sexual Exposure?

Question: What is the minimum amount of days before you can start expiriencing acute hiv synptoms after exposure to risky sex? Im having symptoms after 4 days.
It is a viral infection. so.... 4 days possible....with viral/flu symptoms, low grade fever and enlarging lymph nodes.
While a viral syndrome with HIV is quite common....
It's nowhere near as common as viral infection WITHOUT hiv.
The antibody test is VEry UNRELIABLE in the first 2 weeks. Viral RNA testing by 1 week with antibody test is pretty reliable with 'no' meaning 'no' 90-100% of the time

Ok doc. But i wanted to know can my symptoms be acute hiv ars symptoms? It has beenfour days since risky exposure.
Brief Answer:
4 days is a bit fast
Detailed Answer:
Certainly one could have HIV symptoms like any virus ... a few days after exposure.
It sure does NOT seem to be the usual case.

You seem to ahve asked this same or similar question going back for years.

Hello I have taken the PCR rna test at nine days past exposure. Would you recommend taking the test at 12 days again. Or nine days is conclusive
Brief Answer:
it's a difficult issue
Detailed Answer:
not least of which because the target group lies. about 15% of the initial cohort of HIV patients flat out later admitted they lied. The most common cause of HIV in the iniital studies on women were monogamous relationships with males who did not admit to haviing risk factors. In this context data saying that people turn positive WITHOUT ANY NEW EXPOSURES 1 to 3 months aafter exposure cannot be taken with total certainty.
Certainly it seems that the process of the virus initially multiplying a lot followed by the development of viral immmune antibody goes through a process lasting weeks. a 12 day interval is not very long in this process. Most recommendations for testing after exposure use the 1 month period WITH MORE THAN ONE TYPE OF TESTING... VIRAL NUCLEIC ACID test AND HOST IMMUNE ANTIBODY TESTING done at the same time. So.
1 month testing of both the viral nucleic acid (rna pcr test I believe) and testing for HIV antibody at one month should be good enough to rule out HIV inffection for that particular exposure.
