How To Check For Intrauterine Growth Restriction During Pregnancy?

I will be 20 weeks pregnant tomorrow with twins. I had an ultrasound yesterday, twin A weighs about 313 grams, and B is 280 grams. I am very worried about IUGR....when is this diagnosed? Are my babies growing OK? What can I do it help? I have been SO SO nauseated.
Doppler ultrasound and high protein diet
Detailed Answer:
Hello mam thanks for trusting health care magic.
For Singleton baby at 20 weeks usual weight is 500 grams.
But things are a little different in case of twins as at 20 weeks their weight can range from 300-400 grams which is still normal for them but in your case the weights are on lower side.
In my opinion get a Doppler ultrasound of both the babies and see for the values and it will give you exact nature of blood supply to the babies.
Till then -
- always lie down in lateral position more on left side and never in supine position.
- drink a lot of water
- regular weekly check up of weight and blood pressure
- less intake of salt
- increase your protein intake - eggs, cottage cheese, sprouts and non vegetarian food are rich in protein.
Don't worry in today's world anything can be managed in good tertiary care hospitals.
Keeping fingers crossed and wish you all the best.
