Question : I did my HIV antibody test from SRL Diagnostic XXXXXXX The result was negative.
My questions:
The blood was collected by SRL approved local collection center.
Time of collection was at 11:00 hrs
I received report at 18:30 hrs from the collection center.
It was a scanned report.
How authentic can it be?

Welcome to HCM once again.
It is quite common to have collection centers for many big labs at different parts of country. Main laboratory will be at cities. It is possible to have authenticated report if the collection center and the laboratory are in the same city or within a reach of shorter distance. Moreover it depends upon what type of tests they had done. Certain test can be reported within a hour's time.. If you could send the copy of the test I can tell more.

Right now I don't have the copy of the report. But they have performed CMIA antibody test for HIV 1 and 2. The collection center and laboratory both were in XXXXXXX
I gave the blood sample at 11:00 hrs and received the report back at 18:30 hrs.

It is well possible to have the test over EMAIL when it was performed in the same city within the time of collection and delivery of the results.
Sometimes this test is used as screening test to screen the blood before blood transfusion when other screening test kits are not available. So it is 100% possible and reliable. You need not doubt about the same. Dr S.Murugan
