Brief Answer: Life style modifications, Drugs if not controlled Detailed Answer: Hi, I went through the query and understood your concern. First of all I congratulate you for your concern on your health. Your sugar levels in the past as well as now has good control after having food but FBS is in the prediabetes state. Pre diabetes is basically impairment in fasting blood sugar with FBS between 100 to 126 mg/dl. Pre-diabetics are prone to develop diabetes in 5 to 7 years but we can prevent or postpone diabetes with the following. 1. Lifestyle modification: This will give maximum benefit for now. Exercise. 30 minutes every day for at least 6 days a week. Exercise like brisk walk, jogging, cycling, swimming, aerobics will help. Diet: Have food with complex carbohydrates like whole grains, vegetables, greens and fruits. Always vegetables grown over earth is better than roots and tubers. Less consumption of fat and refined sugars. Maintain your BMI well with in normal range. 2. Medications: Metformin which will help reduce the insulin resistance and in many case prevent overt diabetes. For my patients this is the second step in management. Right now you continue the exercise and dieting as explained. Keep checking your sugar levels once every 3 monts and also if you develop any symptoms like increase in thirst, hunger, urination or tiredness. I hope this information helps you. Feel free to ask if any further queries or information. I will be glad to answer them. Wish you good health. Regards
