Brief Answer:
unlikely to reduce by drugs

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Welcome to HealthcareMagic .

18mm is quite big stone. It is unlikely that it dissolve with drugs. Since it is large and in kidney it is unlikely to pass down with medications.

So I would suggest you to better go for surgery as size is large and he have pain. The surgery done is called PCNL . You may discuss this with urologist.

Hope I have answered your query . If any further queries are there I would love to help.
