How To Imporve Sleep Quality?

default
Posted on Thu, 30 Jan 2014
Question: Hi. I'm trying to improve my sleep and I've been told that I should sleep at the same time every night and wake up at the same time every morning. Is it ok if I stay up 2 or 3 hours longer one day a week? for example when I want to go out on a date. also I've been told that people who can lucid dream are lucky, why is this? what's the benefit of lucid dreaming? I can't really lucid dream but I want to practice so I can do so. I've found some guidelines on how to lucid dream. and one more thing. Is solving puzzles good for the brain. I've been told that solving puzzles might help me improve my memory and organization. Thanks

Brief Answer: Please find detailed answer below Detailed Answer: Hi XXXX, Thanks for sending in your query. Trying to sleep at the same time and waking up at the same time every morning is an excellent thought and will help maintain your circardian rhythm and biological clock properly. However, an occasional late evening once a week is acceptable and will not affect you in any way. Do not worry if you are getting into bed at the same time on the rest of the days. Lucid dreaming is a state of dreaming where the individual is awake and able to control their actions. Some people are naturally inclined to have lucid dreams while some can be induced in to lucid dreaming. The lucky part is partially due to the fact that the person often feels refreshed after such dreams and wakes up to a more relaxed state. Solving puzzles can get interesting and improve your cognition. There are many different types of puzzles starting from the easy ones to the most difficult. Then can help your brain to think more clearly and improve memory and organization. I hope this helps. Do write back in case of doubts. Dr.A.Rao Kavoor
