Brief Answer:
fish , fish oil, exercise.

Detailed Answer:
Dear sir
1. As per the latest guidelines published last year by XXXXXXX heart association, STATINS are only drugs which help in improving outcomes patient with lipid disorder. Non-statin drugs are controversial. If you are not a candidate for statins , you need not to take any other medicines for cholesterol levels particularly HDL cholesterol.
2. Role of HDL in causing heart disease is as yet not clearly established. That is after considering LDL cholesterol, does HDL independently effect occurrence of heart attack is not clearly known.
3. HDL is improved by exercise, fish, fish oils, mild alcohol intake. However I would recommend only fish and exercise.
4. I would like to know if you have high BP, diabetes, stroke , angina or heart attack? Do you smoke? What is your usual blood pressure in numbers?. All this will help in advising you further on issue.
Sincerely
Sukhvinder
