You should feed her 8-12 times in a day in her first month.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us about it.
I can understand your concern here.
You should not worry about it because initially breast milk supply may be low due to many causes like hormonal changes, the baby is not able to take feed properly, breast cyst and stress.
Baby required 8-12 feeds in her initial first month or you can give her feed when she cry.
After one month it is 8-9 feeds per day.
There is some method by which you can increase your breast milk supply.
-You should get a lot of milk, daliya, Moong daal in your diet.
-You can take fenugreek seed (soak in water overnight)
-Hot compresses before feed.
-Breast massage before feed.
-Proper placement of your baby and frequent feed your baby
-You can take drugs which increase prolactin level in your body, but after doctor consultation.
Hope it is useful, feel free to ask more questions.
Good luck.
Regards
Dr.Richa
