Hello,

And your question is? If the dog is not a stray and you can verify it's up to date on its vaccinations then, you should have nothing to worry about. If the dog is unknown to you, a stray, or otherwise, has no owner, etc. Then, you should see your doctor about possibly reporting this incident to the Health Board.

Hope I have answered your query.

Brief Answer:
This needs to be personally examined by a physician and wounded

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Without being able to see the injury in a person, I can't say for certain but this looks badly infected at this point. You should have that immediately looked at by a doctor or a hand surgeon. Preferably, since at the very least you will need a debridement. otherwise, this will become deeply infected and possibly result in complications of gangrene of the underlying tissues and then, worse.

If a physician prescribed the antibiotics for you then, you should return to them immediately and show the deterioration that has occurred in the past week. If this is simply an OTC antibiotic cream such as triple antibiotic or similar and a physician never saw this to begin with then, you need to get to an urgent care center or hand surgeon's office or ER.

Chances are good that at the very least they are going to place you on oral antibiotics. Depending upon the severity and depth of infection it is possible that you may end up with IV antibiotics but that's only after the superficial layers of dead skin can be removed to see what's underneath. Do not perform that procedure yourself.

Take Care!
