Brief Answer:
Gradual taper is advisable

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for writing through HCM.

I have read your query and understood your concerns.

Zomorph 60 mg contains morphine sulphate which is opioid analgesic. I think you must be taking it for some chronic pain.

Long term use of morphine makes body dependent on it so when a person tries to stop or reduce it, s/he will get withdrawal symptoms like muscle cramps, pain, watering from eyes, nose, diarrhoea, sleep disturbance, anxiety, fever etc.

If you gradually taper it you should take at least 1 months for stopping it. In my patient I would ask to reduce by 10 mg every 5 day.

At your age It should be tapered under the observation of prescribing doctor.

Hipe I have answered your query. If you have further query then I shall be happy to help.

Wish you good health.
