Brief Answer:
carbs to 50g,

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It can sometimes be difficult to lose weight.
It requires changes in diet and activity which you have already started to implement.

According to the main low carb diet plan, carbs have to be reduced to 50g a day or less for breakdown of fact to occur.
This means that many would have to be completely eliminated in order for weight loss to occur.

The XXXXXXX website contains meal plans and advice on how to reduce carbohydrate content to this level.

It is also possible that your medication, bystolic , is contributing to your difficulty losing weight.
Bystolic belongs to the beta blocker family of medications and these can be associated with weight gain or preventing weight loss.

You may want to discuss that possibility with your doctor.

A weight loss doctor, bariatrician , would be able to guide you through your weight loss journey.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

That did not really help. What can I do if bystolic is the problem?

Brief Answer:
would need to change if possible

Detailed Answer:
Hi

If bystolic is the issue then you would need to consult your doctor to determine if it is possible to change to a different class of drug.

Some persons require beta blockers if there is a history of angina or previous heart attack or in some cases of heart failure. If you do not have a condition requiring the use of a beta blocker then your doctor can consider switching you to another drug.

In terms of the carbohydrate level- some persons have difficulty losing weight if the amount of carbohydrates being used daily is still above 50g a day (this is actually a very small amount).
If you are still using more than this amount then ketosis will not occur.
This is the reason suggested the use of the website which would detail the carbohydrates that absolutely cannot be used and would also provide meal plans.

In general all rice/bread/potatoes/pasta/biscuits need to be eliminated.

You can also have your doctor check for any thyroid issues. Low levels of thyroid hormone can also prevent weight loss.
