How To Rule Out An HPV Infection?

Question: I am curious if I have hpv or if this is simply a normal growth. At the underside (facing the ballsack) at the base of the penis shaft I have one raised circle clear or skin colored lump...maybe a 1/4 inch long. I do not have any others anywhere, it does not hurt or ich and for the life of me I don't know how long I have had it, but at least a couple years. I am married and have had only the wife as a sexual partner since dating/marrying her the last 10 years. I was sexually active before then but don't believe I have ever picked anything up

Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
thank you for submitting your question. From what you describe, it is difficult to definitively determine what this lesion may represent without a physical examination. HPV usually does not present with a single lesion that is present for many years. There are a number of benign or inflammatory conditions which may manifest similarly. I recommend a good physical examination by your physician to help elucidate the cause of the bump.

Thank you again for sending your question.
