How To Rule Out Anal Polyp Is Benign Or Malignant?

I had an anal polyp removal and fissure operation on Thursday, 5th November 2015.
Before the operation and even after it,my doctor said he was 'oversure' that it was not cancerous.
He even said 'No even a question arises' when I asked if it had any chance of becoming cancerous.
However he said he had to send it for a biopsy as it was routine.
He even discharged me from the hospital 15 hours after 15 hours from the hospital.
On the 11th,I had a follow up and he said it was in great condition and he withdrew all antibiotics.
I don't have pain when I'm passing stool now.
But I am very worried about the biopsy report even with my doctor telling me it has zero chance of being malignant when I asked him on the 11th.
I am very worried.
I already suffer from Illness Anxiety Disorder for which I am currently talking Shine 25mg and Zapiz 0.25mg
It was 1-1.2 cm in size.
I am only 20 years old.
I am very worried.
Please help.
do not worry. unlikely malignant at your age
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Anal polyp can be benign or can be malignant.
But we do not suspect it because of your age factor.
You are too young for the polyp to be malignant type and chances of you having cancer are almost nil.
In field of medicine we believe in results of most commonly seen observations. For example your case, a single polyp of that size in guy of 20 years is almost equal to impossible that it could be malignant.
But if it would had been a male of 60 or 65 with similar polyp or multiple polyps we would have thought it to be cancerous.
You are being anxious too much about the same.
I would advice you to calm down as it would be just a benign growth and nothing else. Wait for your report to confirm it. Report will take 3 to 5 days to come.
Relax and do not worry.
I hope i have answered your query well.
if you have any more query kindly write back to me will be happy to answer them.
Thank you

Because it has already been 10 days.
My doctor has said there is no chance of it being malignant.
enquire about the biopsy report.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for following up with me.
It takes upto maximum 1 week for biopsy report to come. I think your report should be ready by now. Enquire the hospital or your doctor about the report.
Yes he is right. The polyp being malignant is not possible as i told you yesterday. Seeing your age factor and single polyp it is impossible that the polyp could be malignant.
And your doctor have seen the polyp while removing it so he is the best person to comment what the polyp could be. So if hes saying it can't be malignant you need to trust him.
Even without seeing the polyp i can say from other factors that it can't be malignant. Do not be worried or anxious.
Call them up and get your report.
Any more quries you have i will answer them.
Thank you

They said it hasn't arrived yet and it takes 12-15 days for it.
do not worry. it is benign. it cant be malignant
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
It depends on protocol of every hospital. If some hospital dont have the required instruments or equipments to do the tests required they may send it to some other higher labs to get it tested. In this matters it may take some time in commuting to and fro.
I will again tell you the polyp being malignant is highly impossible. You are worried of it unnecessarily.
Trust your doctors and carry on with your usual day to day life normally. Many people carry polyps in their colons undetected through life without having any problem because of it.
Mostly they are harmless.
Do not worry.
Thank you.
