Posted on Mon, 23 Nov 2015
Question: My Kid who is 5 year old hit her back of her head to coffee table. She was hit just above back of neck near left year. She got good hair so the impact was not straight fall as she slided and hit her head.

She is ok now I applied Ice where she was hit. She is playing as normal and she is playful.

Should I take her to Doc now?

No cuts or swelling where she was hit. She said it was paining and I applied Ice and she says it is not paining bad.

Brief Answer:
You need not worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. I understand your concern. First be reassured that your kid is normal. I will suggest you danger signs of head injury -
1. Vomiting continuously
2. Seizures
3. Watery of bloody discharge from ears and nose
4. Unconsciousness
5. Altered sensorium or behaviour.
If none of them are present, I don't think you should worry about his trivial head injury. For pain you can give oral Paracetamol in the dose of 15mg/kg/dose(max ceiling dose 500mg) every 4-6th hourly. Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Sure will do, she is ok and no pains or no symptoms. I was worried about any internal injuries as there is nothing visible externally.

I will keep monitoring her.

Brief Answer:
If there were internal injuries - symptoms would have shown

Detailed Answer:
Hi....please do not worry about internal injuries as if there were any, the symptoms would have shown.

But as I suggested keep a close watch.

Please get back if there are any further queries.
