Brief Answer:
reduce the dose gradually.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.

Dear XXXX,

The thumb rule for discontinuing any of the psychotropic medication is to reduce the drug gradually.

For depression, if the person is in remission (that is no symptoms of depression) for atleast 6 months, the drug can be discontinued.

Asenapt is not known to cause bothersome withdrawal symptoms in most cases.
However, it is still advisable to discontinue the drug gradually.
You are currently taking asenapt 7.5 mg. You can reduce the dose to 5 mg for one week followed by 2.5 mg for one week and then stop. This will reduce any possibility of withdrawal symptoms.

But please make the dose changes under your treating doctor's supervision only as he knows your case better.

Hope this helps.

Feel free to ask further.

Thanks.
