How To Stop Bleeding From A Wart?

default
Posted on Mon, 20 Oct 2014
Question: How very thoughtful of you! I went to a medical clinic here in Florida, USA but they wanted $500 to remove it besides the $100 visit. Health care here is ridiculously expensive. I am only visiting here. I do not have insurance here so I have to wait until I get back home to do this where I have medical insurance. What can I do to keep the growth from bleeding? I am concerned about infection. Would rubbing alcohol be good? What type of bandage can I put on it at night? During the day it behaves itself. Can the removal of this wart or whatever wait until October 20th?

Brief Answer:
Detailed below.

Detailed Answer:
If it bleeds spontaneously, it will be hard to prevent bleeding. The only thing you can do is to put a bandage on it. It will work as a compression as well as a protection from accidental injury of this area. Nothing more can be done to stop it bleeding. But minor bleeding is not a big problem.
You should not be concerned about infection. Your immune system will fight it by itself. It is only superficial and the risk of deep infection is really low. However if you want to be sure, alcohol is fine.
The type of bandage is not very important. Just put a regular one.
Yes, removal can wait until October 20th. Even if its a skin cancer, this can wait. Please note that skin cancer acts like a benign lesion, does not give any metastases and grows really slowly. So you can wait until your doctors visit.

Thank you for your reply. This reasures me. It seems to have just dried up after application of rubbing alcohol. Interesting. Maybe it was just a type of bacteriel infection?

Detailed Answer:
Well, I do not think that infection is the case. This does not look like infected lump or lump caused by an infection. When there is an infection, redness, swelling and pain appears. Pus would be present inside the lump.
So this really is not an infection causing all of this.

Thank you for answering my reply. This growth seems to have miraculously bled and dried out. This is interesting. The rubbing alcohol seems to have dried it out. It started bleeding out yesterday and now it is almost gone showing a small clot. I am optimistic that the rubbing alcohol may have settled the issue. In any case I will have it looked at when I get home. Also if you would share the hospital you work in, in Poland I believe, I would like to shake the hand of a caring competent doctor like yourself whose primary motive for practice is not money as it is here in the USA. I may need to visit Central Europe next year. May the God of love and mercy keep you and your loved ones in the palm of his hand.

I believe that my problem has already been solved by you and the God of Mercy. I just wish my daughter with breast cancer had spoken to you first before she had surgery. She may not have needed it. Once again, may God bless you abundantly.
