Question : hi i am 27yrs old and this is my first pregnancy but i want an abortion,since i recently got married. i checked with a gynac and she said i was six wweks plus pregnant as my last menses took place on 10th april ,bu i concieved on 20th april. i wanted to go for mt pills but she asked me to wait and have a surgical abortion. i am scared and confused as she said pills would be more painful and it might pain for 3 days in pills where as surgical procedure is more convinient and less painful with anesthesia. please advice

Your gynecologist is right in advocating for surgical method for termination and I support her as
- your pregnancy is past 6 weeks so surgical method will be better for complete clearance if uterine cavity
- surgical procedure is almost painless during and after the procedure
- it ensures complete evacuation and eliminates the chance of incomplete abortion which is commonly seen with pills.
MEDICAL ABORTION now a days is given only when patient is unfit for anesthesia or if patient is too scared to go for surgical procedure.
BUT it is very safe and almost painless so I would advice you SURGICAL TERMINATION.
