Question : My Mother have pain in her Left foot just below fingers at the specific area.Since from last 3-4 months. We have referred to doctor as well . He asked for some test. From those Tests, he diagnosis that pain is because of uric acid. He gave her the very heavy dosage medicines, which she took around 5 days only as those medicines were allergic to her and shown symptoms as pain in stomach etc. Resulting, she is still suffering from that pain. Kindly suggest.
Brief Answer:
It appears to be gouty arthritis. Please see medicines below.

Hi XXXXXXX , I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
It does seem from your description that your mother is suffering from gouty arthritis in her left foot. The medicines given to her generally do not cause any side effects apart from abdominal pain which could be due to medicines.
In case she does not feel like taking these medicines , then I would recommend tab paracetamol( as pain killer) , Tab Febuxostat ( to lower her uric acid) local heat application and soft support in her foot while walking. It will take few days for the effect to come.
If she does not feel better in 7 days then I suggest you consult an orthopedic surgeon who will examine and then decide the best course of treatment.
Thanx for the question. Please feel free to ask any other questions.

Medicine you suggested is too general For eg Paracetamol,Better if it is mention in full tablet form like how much mg etc..else there is no use for me to ask in this forum as I already consulted with doctor physically but unfortunately medicine suggested by him doesnt suits her.
Also in your first response you mention about application heat..what is it?

Hi I understand that this forum is only for guidelines and suggestions for treatment. Giving a prescriptions in this forum has many medico legal implications and we don't want to indulge in it. However I would treat you with calpol 650 and febustat 40 mg had you been my patient. This is a prescription medication. You can contact your doctor for a prescription.
Heat application: you can soak her feet in water for a short time . This is called hot fomentation.
Sorry , I could not help beyond limitations of this forum.
