Thanks for writing in.
From the description which you have given it appears to be a case of
malabsorption syndrome due to persistent infection. I would suggest the following investigations and then therapeutic measures which may be helpful to you.
Investigations advised.
1. Stool examination (routine as well as for fecal fat estimation)
2.
Liver function tests
3. B12 estimation in blood.
4..CBC
General therapeutic measures>
1. Stop all previous antibiotics or probiotics.
2. Stop outside foods and even water.
3. Consume only cooked food and clean and potable drinking water.
4. Avoid alcohol .
4. Antibiotic course specifically of the following drugs
a T.
ciprofloxacin 500mgms 1-0-1 x 14 days (after meals)
b.T
metronidazole 400mgms 1-1-1 x 14 days (after meals)
c.T
ranitidine 150mgms 1-0-1 x 14 days (before meals)
After completion of this course you need to start the following
1.
Econorm sachets 1 XXXXXXX /day in the morning mixed with plain water on empty stomach x 10 days
2.Glutamine sachets. Half XXXXXXX per day with water at bed time x 10 days.
In case there is any abnormality in the investigations then prompt correction of those abnormalities is necessary.
Regular exercise, diet rich in foliage and adequate volume of at least 2 litres of water is also essential. Yoga or
meditation may be useful adjuncts as well.
