Question : Hi doctor - while I was learning swimming I developed a bit of itchy sensation in my right ear. It was on and off. now over the past few days I developed a bit of swelling and uncomfortable. Can you please advise what could be going On? is there anything I can try to alleviate the swelling/infection? Please advise.
I am currently in US so if you can advise me any over the counter medicine that would be very helpful.

Otomycosis
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare Magic and thanks for putting up the query
You have probably developed fungal infection in the ear due to water that might have entered. Put antibiotic ear drops 2 drops 3 times a day for 4 to 5 days.
For oral antibiotics you need a prescription.
Take paracetamol for pain.
Plug the ear with a cotton plug while you take a bath.
Any further questions are always welcome.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thanks and regards
