Question : I live in the XXXXXXX XXXXXXX and have been experiencing for about 6 weeks a hacking dry cough that I can't seem to break. I did see a doctor but the medication given to me did nothing. The cough starts with a tickling in the throat. It is so bad that I get weak and my head hurts. My daughter thinks I should see aspecialist. What type do you recommend.
Right now my neck is hurting. I also have a thyroid problem, acid reflux stopped smoking

Hello,

As per your medical history, it seems like an allergic cough.

If you were my patient I would recommend you to do nebulization with steroids like Budesonide twice daily for one week and an antihistamine drug like Desloratadine tabs once daily before sleeping.

Antacids will help to improve the cough too. You can use Omeprazole once daily with the above treatment.
