Brief Answer: Gradual tapering of dose... Detailed Answer: Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks fot your query. I understand that you would like to come off Amitriptylline and would like to know how to wean it off. Now, the best approach is to taper the dose very gradually and then stop. This will prevent any possible withdrawal symptoms and ensure a smooth weaning process. For example, reducing the dose by 12.5 mg every 2 weeks would be appropriate. Also, it is advisable to make any alterations to your medication under the supervision of your doctor. Wish you all the best. Regards, Dr.Jonas Sundarakumar Consultant Psychiatrist
