Question: Hello Sir,

This is XXXXXXX Pillewan, your patient from XXXXXXX
I consulted you about my seizure problem in year 2009 when i was working in XXXXXXX At that time I was undergoing treatment from Dr XXXXXXX Meshram and taking Medicine name Eptoin 50. But as per your advice we changed the medicine and started with Desval ER 500 mg. The results are fantastic. I got seizure attacks only twice. First due to exertion and non intake of medicine and in second case may be due to excessive alcohal intake and lack of sleep along with non intake of medicine. Since last attack I have been taking medicine regularly and having no problem.

But now I am going to marry and I want to share my medical history with my future partner.
Please can you tell me the effects of this medical problem and intake of these drugs.
Also will there be any impact on my marriage life ( sexual Life) and how many years I will have to take these drugs?

As currently i working in Bhusawal, i will not be able to visit XXXXXXX so will it be possible to share your XXXXXXX number to have more discussion on the issue.

Brief Answer:
You can safely marry.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr XXXXXXX

Thank you for posting your query.

It is great to note that your seizures are under good control and you have had seizures only on two occasions.

It is fairly safe for you to marry. You should discuss with your future spouse that you have a mild form of epilepsy and you are on medications.

There would not be any adverse impact on your married life, including sexual activity. Also, it would not have any effect on your kids, whenever you decide to have a child.

Regarding the medicines, you should take for at least five seizure-free years.

I am available on this forum for any discussion in future too.

Best wishes,
