How Would Mint EO And Fish Oils Adversely Affect My System?

Question: Hello!
Yesterday I foolishly took supplements without food and minimal water. I fell asleep for about five hours and upon waking up I wasn't really hungry and went about my day. That evening wanting something to eat, but not wanting to fix anything, I had some strawberry icecream which lately sometimes gives me diarrhea. So this morning it was not unusual to have those diarrhea symptoms upon waking up. This can mean maybe 3-5 times to the bathroom before my gut cleans out. Well on the 4th time there was red blood mixed in with mucus. I've had 4 visits to the potty spread out over today with blood and small amount of kindof clear mucus. The last episod the blood was a bit browner looking, not so bright red as at the begining. I don't have medical insurance and hesitate going to the DR or ER. There is not really any pain associated with this (only slight, oh so tiny bit of discomfort periodically, along the line of very mild cramps, few minutes only) - probably why I haven't moved on this yet. I'm thinking if I do a liquid easy-to-digest diet over these next few days...then the irritation most likely caused by the supplement taking will have healed and I'll be okay. What do you think?? The supplements I took were Vit D, MK7 (advanced form of K2), BiomeMedic (Bacillius coagulans, wheat germ extract, chicory root fiber extract, fulvic and humic acid blend) and Dr. XXXXXXX Gray's Super Minerals for Women. I also don't have a thyroid and take daily Nature-Thyroid and a troche of sex hormones (T,Pro,E2) made with mint essential oils (never take along with anything else for at least an hour). The mint EO is new to my system beginning about a month ago and seems strong in my mouth - but I'm able to handle it and am getting use to it. Wonder if what little bit of EO gets to my stomach daily could be a painless irritant that has been culmulative and a possible concern?? Thank you for your help!

Brief Answer:
Yes its a possibility that EO maybe irritating the stomach

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

As per my knowledge, Mint EO are for external use only. These must not be used internally.
I have known fish oils to cause intestinal bleeding. Since these other oils are also in same category, we can expect them to have this side effect.

Of course we need to take these supplements cautiously. If we dont need these supplements for any particular health condition, then these should be stopped.

Most bleeds stop spontaneously. Since yours is fresh blood, its coming from lower intestine. Maybe anal fissure, or a polyp. If its recurring then a surgical consult is needed who can perform rectal examination or preferably colonoscopy to find the reason.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
