Brief Answer:
Elderly, compromised patients should avoid a hospital visit in COVID times

Detailed Answer:
Hi...
Welcome to "Ask A Doctor" service.
I am Dr Ajeet XXXXXXX

I have gone through your query and here is my opinion.

As your husband has advanced age, is a follow-up case of renal cancer and nephrectomy, it would not be advisable for him to visit a hospital in this globally evolving COVID 19 scenario.

As per his symptoms, his symptoms are very likely due to an acute attack of sinusitis.
He can continue to take Paracetamol 500mg for relief of pain.
Paracetamol in controlled doses is also a safe option for kidneys.
Take steam inhalation and over the counter nasal decongestant drops (they contain Pseudoephedrine) for nasal stuffiness.

Antihistamines like Levocetirizine 5mg at night time are prescribed to such patients.

If the symptoms do not improve, get medical assistance and visit your clinician for a complete evaluation and clinical examination as a last resort (of course with due precautions like a face mask, social distancing, repeated hand washing and use of alcohol-based sanitizers).

Hope that I have answered your query.

Stay healthy and stay blessed.
Regards

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.

Many nasal drops are freely and commercially available with trade names like Nasoclear,Nasivion,Otrivin etc.

A patient of sinusitis should fequently wash his hands And mantain asepsis.
Avoid nasal irritants such as pollution, smoke, dust, pollen, allergens etc.
Use humidifiers and instill nasal saline sprays.
Steam inhalation has no harmful effects and usually prescribed regime is three or four times a day.

Happy living.
