Question : I BROKE MY LEFT LEG APPROXIMATELY 18 YRS AGO. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS SHOTS OF SYNVISC TO THE KNEE WHICH IS VERY HELPFUL. FOR THE PAST MONTH I HAVE HAD PAIN BEHIND MY LEFT KNEE WHICH RADIATES UP THE BACK OF THE LEG. I HAVE BEEN TO AN ORTHOPAEDIC AND HE HAS GIVEN ME SHOTS IN THE KNEE WHICH DO NOTHING FOR THE SORENESS BEHIND THE KNEE. I HAVE HAD A MONTH OF P.T. THERAPY. NOTHING HAS HELPED. I HAVE BEEN ICING IT AND GET TEMPORARY RELIEF FROM THAT. WOULD LIKE YOUR INPUT. THANK YOU, XXXXXXX
Brief Answer:
Related to osteoarthritis.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain behind the knee that you are having is likely to be related to osteoarthritic changes in the knee.
Synvisc injections along with joint lubricant supplements and calcium supplements can help. Physiotherapy will help in the long term and will prevent further deterioration of the joint.
I hope this answers your query.
