I Have Noticed The Tissue Of The Right Side Of
Question: I Have noticed the tissue of the right side of my vagina wall has thickened. It feels almost like a growth in a linear shape (about 3cm in length and .5cm in depth). My husband and I have both exams and noticed the change.
Medical history: I am 26 years old. Married with the same sexual partner for 6 years. Had HPV come up on a screening once (but symptom free and apparently not the type causing warts). No pain, maybe some mild burning and so comfort during sexual intercourse.
What do you recommend?

An linear shaped thickening of the vagina that is painless can be due to a blocked gland or a Bartholin's cyst. These are usually benign swellings and are not likely to be related to HPV. In case it is infected, red and painful then oral antibiotics may be needed to control the infection. A direct examination is needed to confirm the type of swelling. Most likely it is a soft tissue swelling and is not worrisome. You can wait for 2-3 weeks and arrange for an appointment with a gynaecologist for a direct examination in the mean time.
