Question: I am 22 weeks pregnant. My doctor is giving me Microgest 200 to be continued till 9th month. Is this really necessary? I was also given Duphaston 10 mg twice a day till last week as I had three occasions of bleeding - first in Fourth week,2nd in 5th week and heavy bleeding in 16th week.shall I need continue Duphaston also. Also circumvallent placenta is detected in level 2 usg with 3cms blood clot. I am also on LMWH 60/daily and Prolutin/weekly and aspirin 75mg/twice/day.

I am worried to about the level of medication. Pls advice on the medication required in my case after 23 week of pregnancy.

Thanks for writing in detail.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Based on the information given the treatment looks ok. In view of current and recurrent bleeding its advisable to continue with microgest, duphaston and ink progesterone.
I don't know the reason of ones and ecosprin.
After reading your query it seems your Dr is doing a good job. Typically this treatment will be tapered once clot disappears.
Please take adequate rest.
Best wishes
