It is very likely that you had a grief reaction.
Detailed Answer:
Hi....
Welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service.
I am Dr Ajeet XXXXXXX
I have gone through your query and here is my opinion.
As you have had no such symptoms in the past and as there is a history of grief prior to your symptoms,it is very likely that you had a grief reaction.
Stress, grief, panic attack, severe anxiety can cause a transient decrease in blood flow to the brain thus causing lightheadedness and at times, fainting.
Fainting improves as soon as the inadequate (temporarily) blood supply to brain is restored.
Temporary fainting can also happen due to heat exhaustion, dehydration, electrolyte deficiency and due to some medications but as these factors are absent in you, hence they are ruled out.
I would suggest you to Lie down with your legs elevated on a pillow, for next 15 to 20 minutes.
This will increase brain perfusion.
Loosen your cloths,belt and shoes.
Take deep breaths.
Try to de stress yourself.
Have plenty of oral fluids and water.
If the symptoms do not improve ,take medical assistance and visit your clinician.
Hope that I have answered your Query.
Stay healthy and stay blessed.
Regards.
