Question : Hi! I am a 19 year old female who takes propranolol and famontidine on a daily basis. A day after my period ended, I started getting constipated horribly. I took Dulcolax, which did nothing. I stopped taking the famontidine. I just used a saline enema, which emptied me out quite a bit, but I still feel like I need to use the bathroom, and pushing hurts both my back and my stomach area.

Have seen your details and I appreciate your concerns,
Very likely cause of constipation in your case(severe and sudden onset) is not medication rather stress and food low in fiber cheese oil etc could be a cause.
Before making any further comment I would suggest you to go for an ultrasound abdomen to rule out problem in intestine and some blood test like ESR,CRP and CBC with stool microscopy to rule out infection and inflammation.
Follow up with reports.

Hello!

My doctor said to take Miralax and Dulcolax stool softeners before bedtime for 3-5 days. Now I am experiencing lower stomach pain and back pains that feel like someone is stabbing at me.
