Question: I am a 61 year old man and have been having trouble emptying my bladder. my stream is narrow and drips and starts and stops. lately,i cant stop using the bathroom.

Thanks for query ,

Based on the facts that you have posted you seem to have what is called as Benign Enlargement of Prostate (BEP) which is very common at this age ..

Consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Serum PSA.
4) Uroflowmetry .

.Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.

In the mean time you can start taking combination of Tomsulosin and Dutasteride once daily .
