Question : I am a 62 yr old female with high blood pressure, high cholesterol and have regurgitation heart valve. My blood pressure which I just had taken was 185/93 and heart rate 53. Is this normal. I do see my cardiologist every 3 to 6 months but don't have to go back until May. Is this something that I should be concerned about?

Hi,

At the outset, I will suggest to repeat BP preferably after good rest. If repeat BP also show similar readings,you should take an appointment withy your treating doctor. The medicines you are on, the antihypertensive drugs should be modified.
