Question : I am a 64 year old diabetic with swelling of the left foot and leg-what could cause this???????

It is difficult to say a proper diagnosis but as DVT is excluded the most probable causes are; erisypela or cellulitis. Both of them are serious infections that need immediate antibiotics.
You may attach a picture of the leg or contact your physician as soon as possible.
