Question : I am a late onset Type 1 diabetic (diagnosed at age 50). While I have had CLL for about 10 years (diagnosed at age 62), it more recently came out of remission (age 69). Does CLL introduce any new complications to my existing Type 1 diabetes?
Brief Answer:
Hello. Immunity issues may be there
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. I have gone through the details. So a diabetic person has low immunity putting them at risk for infections. Similarly, chronic lymphocytic leukemia too causes a dip in immunity and the two conditions can add on.
Prophylactic vaccination against, influenza, pneumonia and meningococcal infections is warranted for you.
Thanks and regards
