Question : I am a little worried as I am at work which is in the middle of nowhere isolated in Alaska. I woke up this morning with blister looking bumps on my penis. Last night it was itching in the same spot they formed, I didn’t think of anything because it’s a spot that always has itched when I get a little sweaty. I am very concerned and scared it looks like herpes.

Brief Answer:
Answer few questions, upload pictures

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to ask a doctor service
I have gone through your query and it could be herpes but I need to ask you few questions:
Is it the first episode of blisters?
Do you have any pain or burning on the blisters?
Are you sexually active?
If yes when you had the last sexual contact with your partner?
Do you have any other ailments or taking any medicines?
Kindly upload the pictures of the affected areas so that I can have a clearer picture of the condition and can guide you accordingly.

This is the first episode.
No pain or burning.
Yes it%E2%80%99s been about a week and a half since I had sex.
No medications.
I have noticed when I have a lot of sex the hairs on my penis get pulled and irritated. I am hoping the hair follicles were still exposed and got infected or irritated by the KY when masturbated

Brief Answer:
Seems to be herpes infection, oral antivirals & topical antibiotic

Detailed Answer:
I have reviewed the attached photographs and can appreciate the blisters.
It seems to be herpes infection.
I would recommend you to take antiviral medicine like tablet aciclovir 400 mg thrice daily for 5 days and apply topical antibiotic like neosporin ointment on the affected areas twice daily for 5-7 days.
This should resolve the infection.
Oral antivirals are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
