Should I See A Dermatologist Or Gynecologist For Severe Vaginal Itching And Extra Layers Of Skin That Bleed?

Question : I am an 18 year old girl, I have had symptoms of a serious vaginal issue for about 2 years now the interior of the vagina grew extra layers of skin that could be peeled off - extreme itching, to the point the skin is now thin, red and bleeding - I do not know whether to see a dermotologist or a gyn or how to get relief. It is itchy to the point of me having to insert tissue to try and scrub at the itch resulting in bleeding - this is every day and night?

Hi,

Vaginal lining is very sensitive any sort of sensation is very well felt. Itching in here can be troublesome. The peeling of the skin could be due to dryness of the vaginal lining secondary to previous infections.

I recommend you to take Tab Cetirizine 10mg night after food for 5 days. This relieves you from itching, but the problem has to be evaluated well in detail by a clinical examination. I suggest you to visit your gynecologist for further management.
