Question : I am currently taking Brilinta and 81 mg aspirin for a DES stent placement 12 mos ago. I am scheduled for a colonoscopy and would like to know how far in advance it is recommended to stop the Brilinta.

Hello Sir

After going through the medical details provided by you I would like to tell you that usually dual antiplatelet therapy is not recommended nowadays after one year of stenting.

Patients are prescribed with single antiplatelet after one year of angioplasty. So I would like to suggest you to kindly discuss this with your treating cardiologist.

However, it’s advisable to stop it 7 days before.
