Question : I am dealing with two issues and nothing is being done. My iron is 16, % iron saturation 3.7, my second issue is inflammation, sed rate 80. My Dr. has me on iron once a day, and I have been waiting four weeks to to have a consultation with a Gastroenterologist so I can have a colonoscopy. My legs are so swollen that my ankles literally are hanging over my

I think you can visit a gastroenterologist and a rheumatologist.
The swollen ankles and knees together with elevated sedimentation may signify a rheumatological problem.
Continue taking the iron as recommend by doctor.
Visit gastroenterologist to check for possible bleeding from gastrointestinal tract which may be the reason for anemia.

Be cause of Covid I can not get in to see a rheumatologist. The pain is excruciating, especially in my hands. My primary won't prescribe anything. Can you suggest something. Aleve does not work. It takes me just shy of 3 hours to get dress in the morning, and usually have to ware slippers,

You can use anti-inflammatory drugs such naproxen twice daily. Also diuretics such hydrochlorothiazide may be used to reduce edema.
