Question : I am getting very tense today.
Today I went for my blood checkup at dr lalpathlab I dont know whether the person who taking blood was new or what
They tie band on my hand to find vein but did not use swab to clean my skin and after finding vein he inserted the needle but did not put cotton over it so when he inserted needle little blood came out of the area after taking the sample he use swab and cotton to clean the area .
So I am worried can this cause any infection to ke in future like HIV or any other infection?
Please specify what infection can I get ?
As this is not correct way of doing according to me or may be I am wrong

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your query and here is my advice.
Yes, you are right that he should use swab to disinfect the skin before inserting the needle.
Still I think there may be very negligible chance of skin infection /abscess at the injection site and no any chance for HIV infection as usually sterile needles are used.
So I would suggest you to apply soframycin ointment locally at injection site for next 4 to 5 days.
Kindly watch for symptoms fever, discharge from injection site. Maintain proper hygiene.
Hope I have answered your query..
Let me know if I can assist you further.
