Question : I am having intermittent numbness in my hands. My bp is normal. I've recent gone whole food plant based diet SOS free. I've lost 25lbs. I'm taking a multi vitamin. My obesity And htn are my only healthissues

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Your intermittent numbness could either be due to peripheral neuropathy or due to nerve compression. I would need to ask you if you are a diabetic. Deficiency of Vitamin B12 could also give rise to such a presentation. Taking methylcobalamine (Vitamin B12) 1500 mcg supplement per day for at least a couple of weeks should help in improving the situation. If that does not help, it would be advisable to get a NCS (Nerve conduction study) done to evaluate for nerve compression.
