Hello,

Thanks for sharing your health concern with us.

I have gone through your query and would like to offer some information.

You can do the following things:
1. Continue using the vitamin supplement.
2. Avoid progesterone if not necessary
3. Add calcium supplements
4. You can stop using doxylamine if there are no symptoms
5. Get your next ultrasound at 18-20 weeks.

Please contact your doctor for advice on vaccination schedule. Make sure to get at least 8 antenatal visits.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

regards,
Shanti.V.

Hello,

Thanks for writing back.

I have gone through your query and here are your answers.
1. Tetanus toxoid is to be taken as two doses if this happens to be your first pregnancy. You can get the first dose around 20 weeks and the second dose 4-6 weeks later. If this is not the first pregnancy and if you got vaccinated within 3 years, you need only one dose and this can be taken in the last trimester.

2. You can use a calcium supplement that provides 1000 mg. per day. This can be taken as a split dose of 500 mg. twice a day. You can start after 14 weeks.

3. Iron supplements are also necessary. You can take a preparation that provides 30 mg. per day.

4. Usually, iron supplements are available with a combination of folic acid: hence you can avoid the medication. Please contact your consultant for further advice.

Hope this helps. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.
