I Am Looking For A Second Opinion In Regard To Oral Pathology

Question : Hello there,

I am looking for a second opinion in regard to oral pathology. A few months ago one of my partners was diagnosed with urethral gonorrhea. Few days after the sexual intercourse I had a sore throat and a fever so I immediately contacted my medical doctor. I performed the test for gonorrhea (urethral) which came negative. In my country they do not take throat swab culture for Neisseria G. Even so, due to the possibility of contamination during the exposure, together with the doctor we decided to start the treatment which consisted of

Ceftriaxone (500 mg, intramuscular) +Azithromycin 1 gram + 5 days of Cefixime 200 mg per day b.i.d. Due to the exposure, we thought that maybe I was dealing with a pharyngeal form of gonorrhea.



The interesting thing is that after a week of treatment, I developed a small white point on my soft palate on the anterior pillar ( i am attaching the pictures). I excessively used Listerine with alcohol which I think might have damaged the mucosa and resulted in a white area in the picture. I was wondering if you think that the white thing on the soft palate is related to the previous Gonorhhea infection, is a result of excessively using a mouthwash with alcohol (7-8 times a day), or is something else? The idea is that this white patch tends to be more evident after eating and kind of disappears half an hour after eating. I already have it for like 4 weeks, it is not getting bigger but it is also not disappearing. I also have a small cervical unilateral adenopathy ( very hard to find but since I kind of investigate my body frequently I noticed it).

I already visited my medical doctor again who states that he is not able to see anything yet I am curious for a second opinion.



The following represents other lab tests which I did (all of them are negative):

Throat Swab for fungi - negative

Throat swab for bacterias - negative (in my country they DO NOT test for N.G or Chlamy) / I performed the test twice in the previous month, both times negative.

Urethral test for N.G and Chlamy - negative

Syphilis screening - negative

HIV screening - negative

Hepatitis screening - negative

HSV1/HSV2 screening - negative
