Question : I am scheduled for a TEE for my AFib in 3 weeks. I have COPD and fibrosis
in my lungs and as I check O2, my pulse can go from 35 to 145 in a flash. Prior to this my doctor took me off a beta blocker SOTOLOL 80mg 2x as it was driving my pulse low.

I understand your concern and would explain that bradycardia may coexist with atrial fibrillation.
You should know that in patients with atrial fibrillation, bradycardia could be related to a conduction disorder or sinus node dysfunction.
On the other hand, bradycardia could be iatrogenic, caused by beta-blockers, which are used to treat atrial fibrillation.
For this reason, as you are not taking any beta blockers, I would recommend performing an ambulatory 24- 48 hours ECG monitoring to investigate for possible conduction disorders or sinus node dysfunction.
In such case, pacemaker implantation may be needed.
