Question : I am scheduled to have surgery for removal of a median nerve sheath tumor from my left arm on Tuesday morning (Nov. 19). I have stopped taking Eliquis, 2.5mg/twice per day today, tomorrow, Monday(Nov 18), and of course Tuesday. I took one 81mg aspirin today (Nov 17), and will may one tomorrow morning, not on Tuesday. Is it safe to take it again tomorrow morning? I am 84 years old, have afib, CAD, PAD.CHF. I had a tia in 2011, with no apparent lasting effects. I am still fairly physically active. Thank you.

Please refer to the detailed answer

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Ideally ecosprin should be be discontinued 2-3 days before surgery and other anti platelets like clopidogrel minimum of 5 days before surgery.

Your surgeon must have given you instructions regarding this if not then You should discuss this with him.

Kind Regards
