Question : Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with BXO / Lichen sclerosis and am about to have a circumcision. I am wanting a second opinion on the style of circumcision (low or high). My doctor is recommending a 'normal' ie mid circumcision but I am wondering if a low circumcision is preferable so that more of the inner foreskin is removed. My condition is only affecting the very tip of the outer foreskin but I am worried about BXO recurring.

                                    Brief Answer:
Orm routine circumcision is advisable
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query. Based on the facts that you have posted you seem to have Bxo and is advised to undergo surgery of Circumcision . BXO primarily affects the preputial skin. Doing partial circumcision will cause BxO of remnant skin in future Hence it is always better to get circumcised with excision of entire prepucial skin
Thanks and Regards

Thanks. I'm not 100% clear on whether it's best to remove more of the inner or outer foreskin though. If you see this image here: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/9b/ff/89/9bff89754b164046c1bcb05ab44ddf62.jpg
Should I be opting for 'normal' or 'low and tight'?
Normal will retain more inner foreskin, but 'low and tight' will cut more of the inner foreskin away. As a result, with the 'low and tight' option, there is a slight risk that more of the outer foreskin will be retained to allow for growth during erections. Thanks

                                    Brief Answer:
It is the outer skin that is involved in BXO hence needs to be removed .
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up .
In BXO it is the outerskin that is affected hence has to be removed in totto. The position of circumcial incision is decided by the operating surgeon on operation table taking care that the penile skin is not overstreched .So do not go on what you searched on Dr Google .Leave It to operating surgeon who always takes care of anotomy and functionality of the penis during erection and sexual intercourse .
Thanks and Regards.
