Question: I broke my metacapral bone last week and a cast has been applied. however, I am experiencing pain when I unintentionally move my thumb slightly, is this normal? I also feel pressure.

On moving the thumb there might be a small movement or stress at the fracture site that can cause a pain. It is best to avoid any painful movement. The pressure that you feel can be due to slight swelling that might be present due to the fracture. In case the pressure increases or there is a persistent pain then do consult your orthopedician for an examination to rule out a too tight cast.
