I Checked Below Tests By Fasting 10hrs And Shared Its

I have provided only the unusual (out of boundaries) related results here, rest everything is fine (with in limits).
1. HOMOCYSTEINE --> 38.1 μmol/L
2. 25-OH VITAMIN D (TOTAL) --> 12.12 ng/ml
3. VITAMIN B-12 --> 131 pg/ml
4. ALBUMIN - SERUM PHOTOMETRY 4.9 gm/dl
5.
TEST NAME TECHNOLOGY VALUE UNITS NORMAL RANGE
TOTAL CHOLESTEROL PHOTOMETRY 213 mg/dl 125-200
HDL CHOLESTEROL - DIRECT PHOTOMETRY 33 mg/dl 35-80
LDL CHOLESTEROL - DIRECT PHOTOMETRY 141 mg/dl 85-130
TRIGLYCERIDES PHOTOMETRY 223 mg/dl 25-200
TC/ HDL CHOLESTEROL RATIO CALCULATED 6.5 Ratio 3 - 5
LDL / HDL RATIO CALCULATED 4.3 Ratio 1.5-3.5
VLDL CHOLESTEROL CALCULATED 44.6 mg/dl 5 - 40
NON-HDL CHOLESTEROL CALCULATED 180.4 mg/dl < 160
As per above results, i believe i have to concentrate on Vitamin D and Vitamin B-12 and internally it will resolve the Cholesterol related issues (also i know little to decrease oil content).
So, please suggest any supplements needed for Vitamin D and B-12?
Vitamin D and b12 supplements along with folic acid...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Yes, the vitamin D and B12 level are low. Further you have high homocysteine values. Therefore I'd suggest starting:
1. Vitamin D supplements (D rise 60000IU capsule) - 1 capsule should be taken once a week for 6 weeks. Thereafter, I'd add D rise 2000 IU capsule once every day for 2 months. You may reassess vitamin D value after 6 months to decide further course of action.
2. Vitamin b12 supplement (Cap Meganeurone) - 1 every day for 6 months. Recheck vitamin b12 at 3rd month to see if the level rises.
3. As homocysteine value is high, I'd also start folic acid (tab folvite 5mg) once daily for 6 months.
Hope this answered your question. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Thank you for your reply.
Is the supplement intake compulsory to start straight away (with the current levels of vitamins D & B12) or can i concentrate on food intake for improvements ? in this second case, can you please suggest the foods to eat? i am basically a vegetarian but i eat egg and fish occasionally.
Medical supplement the primary line of treatment...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand you wish to start dietary modification instead of supplements. However there are limited dietary options being a vegetarian and occasional fish/egg eater. Good source of vitamin d and b12 are non vegetarian food like meat, fish and so on. And occasionally consumption is unlikely to correct deficiency. The only next option is fortified breakfast cereals.
Therefore the best option is to start supplements with dietary changes.
You should also try and exposure to the sun (without sunscreen) every day for as much time as possibly. Skin has properties to secrete vitamin d when exposed to sun.
Hope this answers your question.
