I Contracted Genital Warts Almost 2 Years Ago And They

Question: I contracted genital warts almost 2 years ago and they went away briefly and have come back and they are quite bad on my clitoral area. I treated oral warts previously with ‘warticon’. I’m very worried that I have a genital wart strain that will never go away, is there a way to test for what type of strain I have? My discharge has also been very clumpy for almost a year and smells bleachy

Brief Answer:
Regarding HPV and vaginal discharge

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have gone through your query and noted your concern.

Yes, you can know the HPV type through genetic testing. Most common HPV type causing genital warts is type 6, 11 which are non carcinogenic whereas HPV type 16, 18, 31, 33 are rare but can cause cervical cancer. Perhaps you have a yeast infection, it causes clumpy, cottage cheese type of discharge accompanied by itching. You may use a clotrimazole vaginal pessary for that.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance.
